Claiming
Overview
Lands is shrimple.cc's land claiming and protection system that allows you to secure your builds, create communities within your nation, and collaborate with trusted players. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started with claiming and managing your territory.
On shrimple.cc, Lands integrates with our three-nation system (Port Royale, Shrimpton, and Coral Crown) (Currently a WIP). Your land exists within your chosen nation, allowing you to form smaller, tight-knit communities based on shared interests, geographic proximity, or personal friendships while maintaining your national identity.
Lands is your protection system against griefing, theft, and unwanted modifications. Once you claim chunks of land:
Chunk-Based Claiming: Lands works with chunks (16x16 block areas), not individual blocks. This makes protection efficient and easy to visualize.
Nation Affiliation: Your land remains part of your nation (Port Royale, Shrimpton, or Coral Crown), maintaining your national benefits while creating a personal community.
Member Contributions: Each member you trust to your land contributes additional claim capacity, encouraging you to build communities.
Upkeep Costs: Lands may require regular maintenance payments stored in your land's bank.
What you need: Be standing in the chunk where you want to establish your base.

/lands edit [name] to explicitly select which land you want to manage/lands menu and checking the land name1. Always Use F3 + G Seriously, this single keybind makes claiming so much easier. It shows you exactly where chunk boundaries are.
2. Start Small, Expand Smart Don't over-claim initially. Claim your immediate build area first, then expand as your community grows and you can afford the upkeep.
3. Trust Selectively Only trust players you genuinely want to collaborate with. Every trusted player gains full building rights in your land.
4. Maintain Your Land Bank Keep sufficient funds deposited to cover upkeep. If payments fail, you could lose your land or face penalties.
5. Communicate with Members Use land chat to coordinate builds, share resources, and make decisions together. Good communication makes great communities.
6. Embrace Your Nation Remember that your land represents your nation (Port Royale, Shrimpton, or Coral Crown). Participate in national events and consider how your land advances your nation's goals.
7. Plan for Growth Each member contributes additional claim capacity. Recruiting active, trustworthy members helps your land expand.
8. Document Your Roles If you create custom roles, keep notes on what each role can do. This prevents confusion as your community grows.
